edit: i just realized that this post was book-ended by two other posts in discussion with a person - so to clarify this post was not related to that discussion specifically. Just when I went to read the article it linked to I was looking at the comments and saw a commenter had written that common thing we always see “I’m not intolerant, but…” just as we often see “I’m not racist, but…” - I was just pointing out that in situations where we do hold prejudices/biases (as we all do) we are likely not very good at identifying them.
