People should be sure to read the link on this one… the testing “conditions” involved the hybrid running “flat out” for multiple laps and the bmw matching that speed behind. So the bmw and it’s larger engine would have been at a much lower rpm than the wound out prius. sound like typical driving conditions to you? the website in question - the newspaper.com - is designed to focus on the “politics of driving” and seems to have a purpose of doing away with HOV lanes, fees for city-center driving, and getting rid of red light cameras… Pretty clear the test was designed with a result in mind… *** ALSO if you look at the picture it seems the bmw was driving right behind the prius - depending on the distance that was kept, there was also likely a pretty significant drafting effect from that!“…it isn’t what you drive that matters, it’s how you drive it.”
In short. I call bullshit!
