A Modest Proposal - Tumblr Burgr Meetup
I’d thought of putting together a tour de burger for this summer during the real tour de France, where people would bike around hitting all the top burger places and eating burgers at every spot. Half-tour is sharing a burger at each spot, full-tour is a full burger at each spot, and iron-person is burger and shake at each spot. So we could do that? Or just be lazy and subway it between spots. But either way count me in. Maybe if we do the tour de burger tumblr would sponsor tshirt? :)Ok, I’m gonna admit it, I’ve never had Shake Shack. Yeah, I know, sue me. I promise to have it in the next few weeks. I’ve also never been to Corner Bistro or had a Burger at Luger’s.
I have had: Lucky Burger, Brgr, White Horse, Burgers and Cupcakes, Five Guys, Jackson Hole, Chelsea Grill, Island Burger (the chicken is way better), 123 Burger Shot Beer Sliders, Route 66 Cafe, and my personal favorite, Burger Joint.
I’m proposing we get a group together, create a consensus on the top 5-7 places to try throughout the five boroughs, and ultimately decide who has the best burger in NYC. This should take an entire day, especially if there’s some travel involved; but that’s probably better for our digestion.
Sure I know this has been done before, but not by me, not by us. So really, it doesn’t count. As we speak, Soup is surveying the unwashed masses (Met fans) to see what they think. Maybe we use those results as a jumping off point - or maybe we strike out on our own.
Now the real question: Who’s with me?
