Have had some very interesting conversations with some Sunni of very different socioeconomic backgrounds on the situation in Iran. Fascinating how class and family background impact views on what is happening, the sort of information/news they have access to in order to be able to shape their opinions. The Arab/Persian differences and commonalities and how the Shia/Sunni divisions come into play are way too complex for me to understand.
People are insane. 2nd time in a row this has happened to me on a long haul flight. Exit row aisle for a 12 hr flight. Girl beside me asks if I’d switch seats with her friend. Are you serious? Tell me you’re kidding. People get a fucking clue. Oh… And really gate screener you take my bottle of water and pop purchased after the security check bc I don’t have a receipt???? Is this a new rule bc I’m on tsa.com right now and I can’t find that rule. I’m gonna make this f’n flight attendent bring me a glass of water every 20 minutes for 12 hrs. You better believe that is me binging u again. Bing. Bing.

What's with the constant Military Helicopter Traffic on the Hudson lately?
It is almost daily now to see a pair (or sometimes a single or 4) of military helicopters flying at low speed and low altitude south along the hudson. This has been going on since fleet week. No media attention on it, but I live/work on the river and this is definitely new and unusual. I’m a little bothered by it actually even if it is just exercises, and I’m a lot bothered by it if it is a patrol of some sort.
If, God forbid, Senator McCain were to die before November 6th, 2012 - can you imagine how quickly people will realize that with a slight gust from the political gods we’d be reading a headline about how this woman was just sworn in as the 45th President of these United States.
